Accompanying programme of the trade fair

Test drives will be organised, like last year, almost by each of the car manufacturing companies – a registration desk will be prepared for visitors, where they will be able to choose from the brands presented and to get registered for a test drive. A special area will be reserved for demonstration of some technologies as well (Valeo self-parking systems etc.). It will be possible to borrow the cars for test drives also from car-sharing companies, which are to be presented at the exhibition too. The testing of electric motorcycles, electric bikes and other electric vehicles will be prepared for visitors as well.

Besides national premieres of cars, the trade fair will offer presentations of a number of manufacturers of charging stations and energy suppliers (ČEZ, Innogy, PRE, Pražská plynárenská). It will be possible to see e.g. products of such companies as Siemens, Heger.eu, Voltdrive, Webasto, Logarex, Elexim, Unicorn, ejoin, Phoenix Contact and others.

In the course of the exhibition it will be possible to visit also various lectures focused on interesting topics, which are to be intended for both the professional public (Thursday) and the general public (on Fridays and over the weekend).

“The exhibition will include also accessories, services, applications and legislations associated with alternative drives of vehicles. e-SALON will bring an attractive accompanying programme with a possibility of test drives again. It will be also possible to attend the i-City conference focused on an intelligent environment-friendly transport in cities,” clarifies Jana Nosálová.

SALES OF ELECTRIC CARS IN EUROPE

The results of sales of electric cars for the first half of 2019 in Europe confirm the advent of modern environment-friendly technologies. Almost 260,000 customers have bought an electric car in the EU Member States and EFTA countries. This figure accounts for 2.7 % of the total market for passenger cars. Electric cars appear to gradually squeeze out plug-in hybrids, when they accounted for 68% of the market for vehicles using power supply sockets. Last year they accounted for 51% only.

Tesla has dominated in Europe

The most successful brand on the Old Continent has been the U.S.-based Tesla company this year, thanks to its innovative model known as Tesla 3. Already more than 40,000 drivers have purchased this car in 2019. It means that on leading positions it has replaced such brands as Renault Zoe and Nissan Leaf 40kWh (28,257 and 19,206 cars sold, respectively). The largest market for electric cars is still Germany, where almost 50,000 electric cars have been sold. The second place belongs to Norway with 44,000 cars and the third one to France with 32,000 electric cars sold.

e-SALON follows the trends

The largest and best supplied clean mobility trade fair in Central Europe is in tune with the times. Its second edition, which is to be held in November 2019 at the Prague Exhibition Centre in Letňany, will offer news on the extended exhibition area, and the accompanying programme will be richer as well.

The presentation of manufacturers and operators of public charging stations for electric cars and of the infrastructure will be transferred to the Hall no. 2. The Halls no. 3 and 4 will offer expositions of automobile and motorcycle brands presenting electric and hybrid cars as well as motorcycles,” clarifies Jana Nosálová, Trade Fair Director.

e-Soul: Premiere presentation of the 2nd generation of the iconic electric car

The KIA automobile factory, which is to celebrate already 75 years of its existence, will bring, as a leader of the electric car industry in the Czech Republic, two purely electric models to the e-SALON Trade Fair, both of them with a range extending 450 km in a combined cycle and 600 km in a purely urban operation. It will be for the first time in the Czech Republic at all when people can see the second generation of the e-Soul model and when also the first purely electric crossover of the KIA brand is to be presented (the e-Niro model). Besides two practical electric cars, KIA offers another 3 electrified hybrids (Niro Hybrid, Niro Plug-in Hybrid and Sportage Mild Hybrid) in the Czech Republic. Thanks to this fact it offers one of the widest product ranges of environment-friendly vehicles on the Czech market. Besides other electric models, they plan to introduce also the first model using hydrogen fuel cells within one year.

There will be presented also other electric vehicles of many automobile brands which are leaders in the sector of clean mobility. Renault will present a new generation of the ZOE model. Ford will show the new hybrid “Mondeo”. The world of delivery vans will be newly represented, for example, by such brands as MAN or MAXUS, as well as other traditional manufacturers of delivery vans.

Tesla 3 as well as new electric Škoda cars

The exhibition will present the above-mentioned Tesla 3 model, and the electric news of the Škoda brand – Citigo iV electric car and Superb iV hybrid model will not be missing either. Audi will show not only the e-tron model, but also the Audi Q5 TFSI e plug-in hybrid.

e-SALON for the second time at the Prague Exhibition Centre in Letňany, on a larger area and with many premieres

The successful premiere of the trade fair for clean mobility entitled “e-SALON 2018” will be followed up at the PVA EXPO PRAGUE Exhibition Centre in Letňany by its second edition. It will be held from 14 to 17 November 2019. The visitors can look forward to premieres of new environment-friendly cars as well as other means of clean mobility on an extended exhibition area.

The premiere edition of e-SALON was visited by almost 23,000 visitors. Nevertheless, the event attracted also professionals. Altogether 174 journalists were accredited there and were interested not only in the exhibits presented, but also in specialised lectures dealing with clean mobility, shared data as well as public transport in cities.

The most admired stars of the exhibition were the Audi e-tron and Jaguar e-Pace electric cars.

“A great attraction consisted of test drives with more than twenty electric and hybrid cars too. The success of the event was underlined also by participation of exhibitors from the aviation sector,” summed up Jana Nosálová, Trade Fair Director.

e-SALON 2019 will grow

The organisers’ attention is already focused on e-SALON 2019. It will be organised on a larger exhibition area and its accompanying programme will be richer as well.

We will transfer presentations of manufacturers and operators of public recharging stations for electric cars and of the infrastructure to the hall 2. The halls 3 and 4 will therefore include only stands of automobile and motorcycle brands presenting electric and hybrid vehicles as well as motorcycles,” clarifies Jana Nosálová.

The exhibition should present also electric news of the domestic brand “Škoda”, i.e. the Citigo iV electric car and Superb iV hybrid model. There will, however, be presented even other electrified vehicles of many automobile brands which play important roles in the area of clean mobility.

The exhibition will include also accessories, services, applications and legislation associated with alternative vehicle drives. e-SALON will bring again an attractive accompanying programme with a possibility of test drives. The organisers have prepared the i-City conference focused on intelligent environment-friendly transport in cities.

The billboard campaign has already started

The e-SALON 2019 promotion has started with the spring billboard campaign on fifty billboards in Prague and on main roads leading to the capital city.

“We are planning another large billboard campaign for October and November. On more than two hundred billboards we would like to present not only the exhibition, but visually also the exhibits registered, i.e. environment-friendly cars and motorcycles, explains Jana Nosálová, Trade Fair Director, on behalf of ABF, the organising company.

The exhibition, which is organised jointly by the ABF company and Prima TV station, will be held on 14 –17 November 2019 at the PVA EXPO PRAGUE Exhibition Centre in Letňany.

THE NAME OF THE FIRST MEMBER OF THE ELECTRICAL FAMILY FROM VW IS ID.3

Volkswagen has confirmed the name of the first model of the new ID. family, which is to be officially introduced for the first time in the world at the International Motor Show IAA in Frankfurt. The new electric car will be presented under the ID.3 mark.

The digit “3” has even two meanings. On the one hand it refers to the fact that the car belongs to the compact segment which is the third in the order within the framework of the generally used categorisation of the automobile market. And on the other hand – with the ID.3 electric car – after such models as Beetle and Golf – the third chapter of strategic importance in the history of the Volkswagen brand is starting.

ID. is a common mark for all members of the VW model family forming a new separate product line in the Volkswagen brand product range. While Beetle was a pioneer in the field of affordable cars at one time, and Golf brings, with each of its generations, innovations to the segment which is sometimes called by its name, ID. should, according to the plans of the automobile company, make electric mobility more attractive for wide groups of customers. The ID. name symbolises an intelligent design, identity and visionary technologies.

The ID models will differ by numbers

The placement on the market of the ID.3 model will be followed by other models whose appearance was indicated by studies: ID. CROZZ, ID. VIZZION and ID. ROOMZZ. These future models will differ by numbers too.

The Volkswagen brand would like to become the world number one by 2025, with more than twenty models driven purely by electric drives and with an annual sales volume exceeding one million cars with zero emissions and extensive connectivity.

HYUNDAI KONA ELECTRIC GOING HALFWAY AROUND THE WORLD

Gran Canaria is an island whose distance from Korea exceeds 17,000 kilometres. This is one half of the way around the world – between two places which have been, in spite of their mutual distance, historically interconnected since the 1960s for the reasons of the post-war emigration.

The Island of Gran Canaria and Korea have been interlinked for dozens of years. These are links reaching even the personal sphere of the actors about whom this story is. Father of Chang-Hyun Moon (Yuna) was a captain of a Korean fishing fleet. From Busan he set out on a world cruise, across the Pacific, he sailed through the Panama Canal and crossed the Atlantic Ocean up to the Canary Islands. He sailed halfway around the world on his ship. Fate, however, prevented him from continuing in his voyage further in order to return back to Korea, circumnavigating the entire world. He has never returned to Busan anymore.

Forty years later, his son Yuna, a civil engineer specialised in transport constructions and focused on social responsibility and sustainability, suggested finalisation of his father’s dream and implementation of the remaining half of the way around the world on the roads, namely in an electric car.

Yuna going with his father by a Kona

For this challenge, Yuna has chosen the Hyundai KONA electric car with lithium-ion accumulators with a capacity of 64 kWh, the highest power output of 50 kW (204 k) and operating range of 449 kilometres.

Morocco, Spain, Gibraltar, France, Monaco, Italy, Switzerland, Lichtenstein, Germany, Austria, Hungary, Slovenia, Croatia, Slovakia, Czech Republic, Poland, Lithuania, Latvia, Russia, Kazakhstan, China and South Korea – these are 22 countries whose inhabitants will become witnesses of Yuna’s transit on his way to Busan. He started his adventure on the 15th May and his arrival at Busan is planned for the middle of July.

The Hyundai Canarias company has prepared the special web site to the project entitled “Road to Busan”.

KIA PRESENTED THE ELECTRIC MOTOR CAPACITY CONTROL BY A MOBILE PHONE

The Kia automobile company has announced completion of the development of the technology of the setting of capacity parameters on the basis of the pairing of a smartphone with an electric car. This means that the driver will be able to adapt key functions through an application installed in the smartphone.

It will be possible to set seven capacity parameters: the highest torque of the electric motor, functions of ignition, acceleration and deceleration, regenerative braking intensity, maximum speed limit, response and use of energy for the air conditioning system. The new technology will make it possible to download one’s own profile from the server and to subsequently use one’s own user settings in the electric car.

The process, however, does not end with the driver’s seat. Users can share their own settings on an online basis and can try specific settings of other users. Customers can apply also default settings recommended by the car manufacturing company, depending on the condition of roadways, from rural roads to city centres and mountain paths. The application offers also optimised settings for a given destination on the basis of the analysis of the remaining distance and energy consumption requirements.

By encryption against data leakage

The Kia automobile company will use the blockchain technology to secure user settings during the time when they are being sent and shared on a server. While sending and sharing its own settings, the system encrypts key capacity parameters in the network in such a way that it creates new data blocks and stores them in a distributed data storage area, whereby it prevents any unauthorised handling of data.

Kia plans introduction of 16 new electrified models by 2025, including five hybrids (HEV), five plug-in hybrids (PHEV), five electric cars (EV) and one fuel cell model (FCEV). The technology will be gradually implemented in all future models of the brand with an alternative drive.

8th EDITION OF CZECH NEW ENERGIES RALLYE

On 16 - 18 May 2019, the eighth edition of the Czech New Energies Rallye took place and the e-SALON could not miss it. In South Bohemia, Ondřej Běhal's crew stood on the starting line and had to manage a difficult track. All the crews performed very well and the e-SALON congratulates the winners!
